The Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra presents “Music and Sports: The Music of Champions,” under the direction of Maestro Alfred Savia, at the Victory Theatre on Saturday, March 14 at 7:00 PM.

Let the Evansville Philharmonic prove that music and sports do complement one another! No age, color or country comes into play when one is cheering for one’s team and music has even more power when played at sporting events. Not only does it bind the fans together but also keeps them energized as they cheer, their favorite teams and players.

This entertaining March Madness event will feature cheerleaders, team and school fight songs, Theme from Sunday Night Football , John Williams’ Olympic Fanfare , and selections from classic sports movies including Rocky, The Natural, and Breaking Away . Emcee Zane Clodfelter, Evansville Otters’ public address announcer, will join the Orchestra on stage as he narrates “Casey at the Bat” and PDQ Bach Beethoven 5th Sportscast (full of referee remarks and commentating).
