The Evansville Philharmonic Chorus will hold general auditions for the 2021-2022 season on Tuesday, August 24, and Wednesday August 25, 2021, beginning at 6:30 PM at Trinity United Methodist Church. Auditions are by appointment only.

Auditions include a vocal warm-up to check range and timbre, a short rhythm exercise, a short sight singing excerpt, plus a prepared solo which demonstrates singing ability. Solos in classical style are preferred, but a hymn, traditional musical theatre piece, or folk song is acceptable. Copy of music for the accompanist is required.

Under the direction of Conductor Andrea Drury, the Evansville Philharmonic Chorus is a volunteer chorus of approximately 100 members which performs major choral repertoire with the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra.

The Evansville Philharmonic Chorus will join the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra for several performances in the 2021-2022 season, including Opening Night – “American Visionaries” in September; “Literature in Music” in October; “Famous Love Stories” in November; and “Peppermint Pops” in December. The Evansville Philharmonic Chorus is also performing an independent Spring Choral concert on Sunday, April 24.

Rehearsals are held on Monday evenings from August 23 through May 14; additional rehearsals are required with orchestra on the week of performances. Interested singers should contact Danniece Henderson, Director of Operations and Chorus Manager, at [email protected].
